Journalism: Where Dreams and Reality Collide

RAY DIDINGER, Temple class of 1968, always loved Philadelphia sports.

As a child he rooted for Tommy McDonald, the pint-sized Eagles receiver who became a Hall of Famer. Didinger dreamed of becoming a sportswriter. And then he did it.

While writing for the Philadelphia Bulletin and then the Philadelphia Daily News, Didinger traveled the world for his craft, documenting Olympics, Super Bowls, World Series games and everything in between. He became such close friends with his childhood hero that Didinger gave Tommy McDonald's introduction speech during the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Didinger has lived his dreams through journalism. And he started here at Temple.

Read a Q&A with Didinger where he talks about his new book which will be released on 9/26.
