Wow, hard news journalist Alan Smith. I am speechless, and this was definitely like a train wreck. You want to turn away, but your eyes are fixated on it. I hope this guy enjoyed the ladies, the drinks, and the wonderful travels he spoke of.
'And I'm a bit pissed." Irreplaceable haha. I wonder what would happen if Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer got pissed. I think they might break the Idol ratings.
People, people. But he has a deep respect for the dutch nation! What a fantastic hard news journalist, even if he was a self proclaimed, "bit of an idiot."
After I ceased my uncontrollable laughter I felt a little bad for him. His career is now officially a joke. I'll be sure to never to drink on the job for fear of my reputation.
Talk about ruining your career. This guy can kiss his journalistic career good-bye. It's almost as if he wanted to lose his job. I don't what was worse, this or the whole Larry Mendte incident. And I just realized that he said he "cut and pasted from BBC." Admitting to plagarism is probably not a good idea in this field.
If you intend to go into journalism as a career, you should be writing, taking pictures, laying out pages, making decisions and informing our community now. Really.
Contact an editor at the Temple News and begin working for them ASAP. Get clips. Get experience. Get paid.
Former CBS3 anchor Larry Mendte visited our class in 2008 and then put us on the news. He polled the class on the day of the Pennsylvania Primary Election. You can see the video by clicking here.

That was pretty sad. I hope I don't turn into an alcoholic, unhappy journalist. And how mean of the cameraman to post it on youtube!
