I'M NOT SURE I've mentioned this before, but the Internet has changed everything.
All of the various media platforms - TV, radio and print - are converging online. Of course, no one is certain what the online product should ultimately look like. Online, you can run video, sound, images and stories, and now every media outlet provides each of those. The potential for innovative ways to provide information is mind-blowing.
And the video above is what the Philadelphia Inquirer gives us. Ug. How awful is that?
Is the future of print media simply taking stories and putting them online? Can you do newsroom video clips like this and say you are on the frontier of new media? How do you guys want to get your information?
We will talk about these questions and more tomorrow when our guests from Phawker and the Metro visit.

That's rough, and I hope it doesn't come to this because where's the writing and the talent? Anyone can learn some facts and talk in front of a camera, but not everyone can write a good story.
If this is what the future of the print media is, then we might all have to start looking for new careers.
For what it's worth, I don't think it's going to turn out this way. I'm not sure how everything will end up, but I doubt it will be like that clip. That clip was just like...what?
Way to take one for the team, Inquirer, always making us proud.
I agree with Morgan. This piece of whatever you want to call it, is just plain horrible.
It doesn't grab your attention at all, it is dull, boring, and plain trash. You can't even really call it news anymore it is so bad.
I just hope this is NOT the future of news.
This was a joke. Two good reporters, stating the obvious. This is the future, this is a just a poor example of the future. Here's a great article that ran over the summer in Fortune Magazine about the Washington Post.
