How can newspapers make money when information on the Internet is generally accepted as being free? Will you pay the "micropayments" Isaacson mentions to read news online?

I was just talking about being charged for the internet a couple days ago. I think that in the beginning people will be pissed that they have to pay for something they used to get for free. I also think that some people will pay. Personally I'm not sure I will pay for something I can get for free on TV.

I think it's going to be difficult to charge people for information. People who care enough can find ways to get news for free, just like they can retrieve any other form of medium for free on the internet.

If people want it for free, they will get it. Hence the popularity of piracy concerning music, movies, and such.
