Bristol and Levi Broke Off Their Engagement! Is That Really News?

AN ABC NEWS reporter performed an interview with Levi Johnston, father of Bristol Palin's child, while Johnston was sitting in a red pick-up truck.

The reason to interview the 19-year old? He and Bristol broke off their engagement just a few months after having a baby together.

Bristol Palin, of course, is the daughter of Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska and former vice presidential candidate.

Is their break-up newsworthy? And if so, is it fair for the reporter to just show up in Alaska and confront the young man while he is sitting in his truck?

In our world today, people do what they want whether they care other's will approve or not. Personally, I think it is very rude to just show up and interview him about his personal life, when the Palin family is no longer even in major media headlines. ABC must have been scrambling for some news if they went all the way to Alaska to get this little story.

As for Levi, good for him for seeing that he isn't mature enough, but admitting it to the world? Good luck trying to work things out with Bristol though.

well i think its not a news because there so much happening in world other than that they should covering them not someone's personal life. i don't think that reader actually care about that story everyone has right to live and do whatever they want to do in their personal life.

Yes it is northworthy. It is prominence, timeliness, human interest, conflict. Come on, they did it to Brittney Spears and her younger sister. I believe it was fair. He did not have to agree to do the interview he could have said no. At least this station had the money to send a reporter to Alaska!!

I considered Sarah Palin entertainment, she was goofier than I don't even know what. So I guess this would qualify as entertainment news? Especially, if they're refrencing Star Magazine. Real Classy... :/

This story might be worthy of a quick mention but I think that two and a half minutes is a little long to broadcast the information. I mean does anyone really care?

Really? Newsworthy? He had the oppertunity to decline the interview and the only reason to invade him is because of the ex-fiance's mother has political standing. I think it is more entertainment.

I didn't see it on the news, but I saw articles on the web. I wouldn't even consider it news since it doesn't affect ANYONE ELSE in the world except for them.
